Thursday, July 26th, Session 1 - day 1
Activities:
Yahoo first day of camp and it was fun, fun, fun!!!
It is so good to see so many familiar faces and we welcome the new ones to.
After a very quick check-in everybody got to know everybody then we met on the basketball court.
Of course there was already a friendly game of basketball going on between the boys in cabin 3 and the girls in cabin 1, I believe the boys won but it is early days yet.
We then did cabin introductions followed by some relay races, people got a little wet, mainly counsellors but a great time was had by all.
Dinner was pizza, yah!!!!
Then evening activity due to weather conditions was a fireless campfire in the lodge, where all the cabins participated with a skit and we had some camp songs and skits by counsellors.
So that was our first day, and as you can imagine I think everyone will sleep well tonight.
Weather report:
Glimps of sun during the day, a wonderful downpour in the evening.
Friday, July 27th, Session 1 - day 2...

play to present Monday night - "Captain Hook" will star Sydney, Christina,
Orlando, Evan, Alex, Tim and others.
Orlando was top bowler today with an exciting score of 121.
Alex proved to be the Trivia Champ on the journey to the bowling alley.
Our evening activity was a very successful "Krazy Skavanger Hunt!".

The boys started to finish off there instruments for "Battle of the Bands" on Tuesday night!!!! I am going to need earplugs.........
We had a little longer for rest hour to as in the afternoon we had an all camp Carnival. There was the Pie Toss, Mini Golf, Basketball Throw, Face Painting, The Dunk Tank, Horseshoe Toss, Tic Tac Toe and Madame Zelda gave everyone their fortunes.
We also did Golf Cart rides which was fun for all.
Evening activity was Kangaroo Court, by the skin of his teeth Bill seemed to remain clean this year, I think we need a re-trial on that one.
Weather report:
No rain whatsoever - beautiful fluffly white clouds of amazing shapes.
Monday, July 30th, Session 1 - day 5...
Activities:
Well what a day we had today!
Bill Took a large group mainly the boys and they went to McGaffey lake, where they did some fishing (no, they didn't catch anything) and hiked. They had lunch out and then they all went bowling.
In camp we had our final play practice ready for tonight. In the afternoon it was a little raining so we played games and sang songs in the lodge. Then we had our production of "Captain Hook", which was a rousing success, followed by talent from each of the cabins.
I think everyone will sleep good tonight!
Weather report:
Again, partially cloudy, this time WE HAD SOME RAIN in the afternoon. We did enjoy it though - it was like a great quick refreshing shower :)
Monday, July 31th, Session 1 - day 6...
Activities:
Boo hoo!! Last day! Well in the morning we had a large group of swimmers go out for their final dip.
Bill took a few on a hike and got lost (kidding). The little boys had a great time with snacks, stories etc.
And we had the wheelchair races and did the girls win? Oh yes, they DID! :) Even with some of them going twice. Teresa, Christina and Syndey proved to be wonder women.
Our last dinner was yummy vegetable pasta with salad and breadsticks, followed by ice cream sundaes for desert.
Final activity were the dance of course and the "Battle of the Bands" - the house was rocking!
It has been a fun-filled busy, happy week. We look forward to doing it again next year.
Weather report:
Sunny in the morning. Thunderstorms and heavy showers in the afternoon. As always in Vanderwagen, a beautiful sunset to end the day.
